Sonntag morgens an der Ecke Merseburger / Karl-Heine-Straße. Die Ampel ist aus, beim ruhigen Verkehr kommen die Leute auch so über die Straße. Ein Mann kommt mit einem SUP-Board unter dem Arm vom Kanal. Im Fenster des ‘endlich besser leben’ bietet ein Plakat der lokalen Antifa unter dem Titel ‘Zu alt für diesen Scheiß!’ Gesprächstreffen für Ü30 Menschen anlässlich des Landtagswahlergebnisses (‘Faschisten stärkste Kraft?’) an. Ich pinsel gleichzeitig zu lange und zu kurz an Platanenlaub herum.
Sunday morning on the corner of Merseburger Strasse and Karl-Heine-Strasse. The traffic lights are off and people are crossing the road in quiet traffic. A man comes from the canal with a SUP board under his arm. In the window of ‘endlich besser leben’, a poster from the local Antifa organisation offers meetings for people over 30 under the title ‘Too old for this shit’ on the occasion of the state election results. I paint too long and too short on sycamore leaves at the same time.
Ich sehe mir die Ausstellung des USk Deutschlandtreffens im MDBK an und treffe viele Mitzeichner. Wir gehen zum weiter zeichnen auf die Katharinenstraße vor dem Museum, setzen uns auf einen Truckblock und malen Richtung altem Rathaus. Wieder kommen dauernd Zeichner vorbei und wir reden genauso viel, wie wir arbeiten. Ich war nur kurz auf dem USk-Treffen. Es war trotzdem sehr schön. Dank an die Organisatoren von @uskleipzig2024 !
I visit the exhibition of the USk Deutschlandtreffen at the MDBK and meet lots of fellow sketchers. We continue drawing on Katharinenstraße in front of the museum, sit down on a truck block and draw in the direction of the old town hall. Once again, sketchers are constantly passing by and we talk as much as we work. I was only at the USk meeting for a short time. It was still very nice. Thanks to the organisers from @uskleipzig2024 !
In der Nähe des Leipziger Bahnhofs ist an der Schützenstraße ein Kiosk mit Shisha- und Barangebot in einem unsanierten Eckhaus. Ich hocke an einem Verkehrsschild gegenüber – es kommen hin und wieder Gäste zum Gucken. Bald muss ich los, zum Bus.
There is a kiosk with shisha and a bar on Schützenstraße near Leipzig railway station in an unrenovated corner building. I’m sitting at a traffic sign opposite – people come to have a look from time to time. Soon I have to leave for the bus.
