Samstag Nachmittag – Nachdem ich meine Konsumbedürfnisse (Pinsel, Klebstoff, Holzlöffel, Curry Bowl) befriedigt habe, hocke ich mich auf den Breitscheidplatz und schaue auf das Europacenter. Hinter mir demonstriert zuerst eine Gruppe mit roten CHP Flaggen und einem Lastwagen als Bühne für Reden und Musik. Irgendwann ist die Demo zu Ende und ein Mann mit Gitarre singt türkische Lieder, die eher romantisch klingen, aber auch eine türkischsprachige Version von ‘Bella Ciao’. Vor mir gehen oder sitzen Menschen, häufig mit Tüten in der Hand. Zwischen ein paar Regentropfen scheint die Spätsommersonne.

Saturday afternoon – After satisfying my consumer needs (paintbrush, glue, wooden spoon, curry bowl), I squat down on Breitscheidplatz and look at the Europacenter. Behind me, a group demonstrates with red CHP flags and a lorry as a stage for speeches and music. At some point the demonstration comes to an end and a man with a guitar sings Turkish songs that sound rather romantic, but also a Turkish version of ‘Bella Ciao’. People walk or sit in front of me, often with bags in their hands. The late summer sun shines between a few raindrops.
