Am Dienstag fahren wir nach Lüttich. Wir frühstücken im Café Randaxhe, in Outremeuse, dem Stadtteil auf einer Insel zwischen der Maas und einem Altarm.
Tuesday we drive to Liège. We have breakfast at Café Randaxhe, in Outremeuse, the district on an island between the Meuse and an oxbow.
Später zeichne ich an der Rue Grétry – die Insel ist hier so schmal, dass die Straße sie auf nur gut 100 Meter zwischen den beiden Brücken über Altarm und Maas quert. Ich schaue den Quay de la Bouverie hinab. Über dem Eckhaus zur Rue Méan ist ein schmaler 20 Geschoß hoher Turm aufgeständert.
Fußgänger und Autos überqueren abwechselnd die Kreuzung.
Later I draw at Rue Grétry – the island is so narrow here that the road crosses only around 100 metres between the two bridges over oxbow and the Meuse. I look down the Quay de la Bouverie. Above the corner house at Rue Méan is a slender 20-storey tower.
Pedestrians and cars cross the intersection in alternating traffic light phases.
