Vom Bhf Friedrichstraße führt ein Fußgängersteg unter der S-Bahn-Brücke über die Spree zum Schiffbauerdamm. Der Steg folgt der Form der Bogenträger, zur Mitte wird die Decke niedrig. Das Tageslicht reflektiert von der Spree von unten in die Struktur aus genieteten Stahlträgern. Hier oben ist alles anthrazit grau oder blaß graugrün, die Spree sieht man zwischen den Querträgern, olivgrün. Ab und zu fährt ein weiß lackiertes Ausflugsschiff unter der Brücke durch.
A footbridge leads from Friedrichstraße station under the S-Bahn bridge across the Spree to Schiffbauerdamm. The footbridge follows the shape of the arched girders, the ceiling becomes low towards the middle. Daylight reflects off the Spree from below into the structure of riveted steel girders. Up here everything is anthracite grey or pale grey-green, the Spree can be seen between the crossbeams, olive green. Every now and then, a white-painted excursion boat passes under the bridge.
