Ich gehe vom Bahnhof Friedrichstraße über die Weidendamm-Brücke und dann flussauf und runter zum Spreeufer. Ausflugsschiffe fahren vorbei, die heißen ‘Kaiser Friedrich’, ‘Belvedere’, ‘Hemingway’ oder so. Auf einem läuft eine Stadtführung vom Band, auf meiner Höhe bei jeder Vorbeifahrt derselbe Text. Ich erfahre, dass hier irgendwo ein katholisches Militärbischofsamt zu sehen ist. Von hier unten sehe ich es nicht, glaube ich, weiß aber auch nicht, wie es aussieht. Auch sonst kann ich mir nichts darunter vorstellen, aber man kann es googeln.

I walk from Friedrichstraße station across the Weidendamm Bridge and then follow the river up and down to the banks of the Spree. Sightseeing boats pass by, named ‘Kaiser Friedrich’, ‘Belvedere’, ‘Hemingway’ or else. One of them has a recorded guided tour playing; every time it passes me, the same text comes on. I learn that somewhere around here there is a Catholic military bishop’s office to be seen. I can’t see it from down here, I think, though I don’t actually know what it looks like. I can’t really picture what it is either, but it is googleable.
